The Ladder of Non-Surgical Orthopedic Care

The Right Treatment Is the Least Invasive One That Works

We think of non-surgical orthopedic care as a ladder. You start on the lowest rung likely to help, and only climb when needed. Some patients need one well-placed cortisone injection. Others, with chronic tendon damage or arthritis, benefit from regenerative medicine approaches that work with the body’s own healing biology. What you’ll never get here: a one-size-fits-all package or a treatment recommendation that ignores the evidence.

Three Tiers of Treatment

syringe representing injection therapy

Injection Therapy

The foundation. Ultrasound-guided cortisone, hyaluronic acid (gel), and targeted injections for fast, precise relief.

cells representing regenerative medicine & orthobiologic therapy

Orthobiologic Therapy

The middle rungs. PRP and related treatments that concentrate your body’s own healing factors to support tissue repair.

How Stem Cell Therapy Works

The top rung. Bone marrow aspirate concentrate, drawn from your own body and prepared the same day, for selected joint and tendon conditions.

Every Treatment Dr. Ogunsola Offers

30,000+ procedures performed. Every injection guided by real-time ultrasound. Every patient personally treated by Dr. Ogunsola, no exceptions, no mid-levels, no shortcuts.

✓ Evidence-Based

syringe representing regenerative medicine & cortisosone shots

Corticosteroid Injections

Ultrasound-guided steroid injections for joint pain, bursitis, and acute inflammation. Fast-acting, precise delivery to every joint. A proven conservative option for the right patient and the right condition.

✓ peer reviewed

knee representing regenerative medicine & viscosupplementation

Viscosupplementation

Ultrasound-guided hyaluronic acid injections for knee and hip osteoarthritis. Clinically proven for pain relief and functional improvement, providing meaningful joint cushioning for the right candidate.

✓ Evidence-Based

PRP & Regenerative Medicine

PRP — Platelet-Rich Plasma

Healing platelets concentrated 5–10× and injected under ultrasound. Superior to hyaluronic acid for knee OA at 12 months. Strong evidence for rotator cuff and tendinopathies. Pricing determined at consultation.

✓ Peer-Reviewed

Microscope representing Regenerative Medicine & BMAC

BMAC — Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate

Mesenchymal stem cells and growth factors from your own bone marrow. Clinically shown to reduce cartilage degeneration and joint inflammation at 24 months. Pricing determined at consultation.

✓ FDA-Cleared Device

cells representing regenerative medicine & MFAT

MFAT — Microfragmented Adipose Tissue

Microfragmented Adipose Tissue uses the FDA-cleared Lipogems® system to mechanically process a small fat sample, preserving the stromal vascular fraction (SVF), which contains regenerative cells, growth factors, and anti-inflammatory agents within an intact adipose niche. This structural integrity is what makes MFAT uniquely effective for joint arthritis, providing both cellular and mechanical regenerative support.

✓ Clinical Evidence

dna

Percutaneous Tenotomy

A minimally invasive procedure that uses ultrasound guidance to identify and remove damaged tendon tissue through a tiny incision. By eliminating unhealthy tissue and stimulating the body's natural healing response, the procedure can help reduce pain and improve function in chronic tendon injuries that have not responded to conservative treatments.

FDA-Cleared. Peer-Reviewed. Proven.

Every treatment at Treasure Coast Non-Surgical Orthopedics is supported by published clinical research and continuously evaluated against current best practices in orthobiologics. Dr. O actively studies the emerging literature and updates treatment protocols as the evidence evolves, not wellness marketing, not unverified stem cell tourism.

Clinical Research: Full Spectrum Evidence

American Journal of Sports Medicine
PRP superior to hyaluronic acid for knee OA at 12 months
Leukocyte-poor PRP showed statistically significant improvement in pain and function vs. viscosupplementation in mild-to-moderate knee OA.
Journal of Hip Preservation Surgery · Clinical Rheumatology
Ultrasound-guided viscosupplementation in hip OA reduces pain and improves function
Intra-articular HA injection into the hip provides clinically meaningful relief. Multiple systematic reviews support use before joint replacement consideration.
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery · AJSM
Ultrasound-guided percutaneous tenotomy effective for rotator cuff and shoulder tendinopathy
Significant reductions in pain and disability in rotator cuff tendinopathy and calcific tendinitis — 75–85% meaningful improvement at 6–12 months.
Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery
BMAC reduces cartilage degeneration in knee osteoarthritis
Measurable cartilage preservation and significant VAS pain reduction at 24 months in prospective clinical trials.
Stem Cells Translational Medicine
MFAT (Lipogems®) safe and effective for knee and hip arthritis
Multicenter studies confirm safety and significant functional improvement in OA patients at 12–24 month follow-up.

FDA Clearance: MFAT uses the FDA-cleared Lipogems® device. Diagnostic ultrasound guidance is FDA-cleared. PRP and BMAC are autologous same-day procedures under FDA guidelines (21 CFR 1271).

A Word About “Regenerative Medicine” in Florida

Florida has seen an explosion of clinics selling “stem cell” treatments with big promises and thin science, some using purchased products containing no living cells at all. We built this practice as the antidote: physician-led, imaging-verified, autologous-only, and honest about what regenerative medicine can and cannot do. If a treatment isn’t right for you, we’ll say so.

Answers About Regenerative Medicine Treatments

The questions Treasure Coast patients search most, answered with the same honesty you'll get in the office.

What is regenerative medicine?

An umbrella term for treatments that aim to support or stimulate the body’s own repair processes rather than just masking symptoms, in orthopedics, primarily PRP and bone marrow concentrate (BMAC). Evidence varies by condition, which is why honest, condition-specific guidance matters.

Which treatment is right for me?

It depends on your diagnosis, severity, goals, and budget. That’s the purpose of the initial consultation: exam, ultrasound, and a clear walk-through of options with expected outcomes and exact costs.

Are these treatments FDA-approved?

Cortisone and hyaluronic acid injections use FDA-approved products. PRP and BMAC are performed under FDA regulations permitting same-day use of your own minimally manipulated tissue; the FDA has not approved them to treat specific orthopedic conditions, and we’ll always be straight with you about the state of the evidence.

Disclaimer: “Individual results vary. PRP, MFAT and BMAC are autologous treatments performed under FDA regulations for same-day use of a patient’s own tissue; they are not FDA-approved to treat specific orthopedic conditions.
